Daikin ATMOSPHERA: Vermont’s First R-32 Installation

ABCO HVACR Supply + Solutions, Daikin Comfort Technologies and Bourne's Energy have teamed up to install the first Daikin ATMOSPHERA unit with R-32 refrigerant in Vermont. With recent regulatory changes that now allow for units with R-32 refrigerant to be installed in the state of Vermont, ABCO and Daikin are leading the industry with the switch to the next generation of refrigerants that have a lower Global Warming Potential (GWP) than R-410A. Proven and reliable, R-32 is the A2L refrigerant that’s widely used around the world today. With over 160 million R-32 units made by over 40 manufacturers and installed in more than 90 countries.

The Daikin ATMOSPHERA Single-Zone System is ideal for spot cooling and heating needs in residential and commercial spaces that require heating and cooling even in extreme ambient temperatures. In addition, Daikin ATMOSPHERA is an effective source of heat to offset old, inefficient furnaces or boiler systems.

Bourne's Energy was thrilled to have been selected to install the first Daikin ATMOSPHERA with R-32 refrigerant in the state of Vermont. "As we celebrate our 75th anniversary this year, Bourne's Energy continues to focus on ways in which we can help our customers and communities reduce their carbon footprint by making smart choices with their fuel and equipment purchases. The Daikin ATMOSPHERA is a more efficient system and more importantly, it's up to 14% more efficient in harsh conditions which is an important differentiator with our tough Vermont winters. The ATMOSPHERA with R-32 refrigerant also offers approximately a 10% reduction in electricity consumption and has a global warming potential (GWP) that is one-third lower than other refrigerants. These features make the ATMOSPHERA with R-32 refrigerant an exciting offering for Bourne's Energy customers. We're pleased to bring the Daikin ATMOSPHERA to many homes and businesses here in Vermont as we continue to lead the way in offering environmentally friendlier heating fuels and high-efficiency heating and cooling equipment that fuel the future for Vermonters."

ABCO and Daikin are looking forward to more states passing regulations in the near future that will allow for more ATMOSPHERA units with R-32 refrigerant in the markets that we serve.
