2024 Nightball of KARA and 30th Anniversary Celebration

On Friday, January 19, 2024, the Korean Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Association of New York (KARA) celebrated its 30th anniversary at the 2024 Nightball of KARA. KARA is a group of Korean American HVAC/R contractors that work together to share and promote knowledge and industry expertise, creating a valuable business network for their members. Since KARA’s inception in 1994, ABCO has been KARA’s supplier of HVAC/R equipment, and a trusted resource for their technical information.

After a 3-year hiatus due to the pandemic, KARA’s annual celebration was held at Korean Community Services of Metropolitan New York, Inc. (KCS) in Bayside, NY. Over 250 of KARA’s members and friends, including 40 ABCO attendees, gathered for the festivities and enjoyed traditional Korean food, drinks, a Korean drum dance performance, and dancing. The evening began with a welcoming speech by KARA’s Chairman, Jinsoo Kim. Other speakers included: K. C. Lee of K.C. Refrigeration, Kwang S. Kim, President of The Korean American Association of Greater New York, and New York State Senator John C. Liu. ABCO’s Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Hugh Drumm, gave a congratulatory speech and thanked KARA for their support, while reinforcing ABCO’s commitment to their association.

As per KARA Nightball tradition, scholarships were awarded to students and lucky raffle winners won lottery prizes, such as iPads and TVs. Two grand prize raffle winners won round trip tickets to Korea. By the end of the night, six ABCO employees won various prizes, which even included a round trip ticket to Korea!

To all our friends at KARA: thank you for being special partners, and for creating such a memorable night. We look forward to a successful 2024 and beyond.
